4th of July Celebration in Coronado

Celebrating America’s Independence Day on Coronado must be experienced to believe it!  It is really several days of events to celebrate America, our military and the amazing community!  Below is a timeline of events so you can get a jump start on planning your celebration now.

Wednesday, July 3rd

  • 6:00PM – 10:00PM – C4 Foundation Benefit at Hotel del Coronado’s Windsor Lawn. Tickets at C4Foundation.org

Thursday, July 4th

  • 5:00AM – Wake up & get your spot along Orange Ave for the parade. You can’t set up before 5am – however, you should get there by 4:30am and wait across the street from ‘your spot’ if you want front row seating on the curb or grassy median!  Tip, you can also take the ferry over from downtown San Diego to Coronado.  The traffic is going to be heavy, so plan on walking or biking.
  • 7:00AM – Annual Independence Day Crown City Classic 12K Run, 5K Run, Kids Fun Run, Tidelands Park (Registration at 5:30AM) Info: RunCoronado.com

  • 8:00AM – 4:00PM  Art in the Park at Spreckels Park (6th & Orange Avenue)
  • 8:30AM – Annual Rough Water Swim Central Beach (Check-In Starts at 7:30am), Info: CoronadoRoughWaterSwim.org
  • 9:15am – Independence Day – Mile Sprint Info: RunCoronado.com
  • 10:00AM Independence Day Parade
    Theme:  “The American Dream” Location: Orange Ave from 1st Street to Churchill Place. Online live stream at tv.coronado.ca.us
  • 2:30PM – 4:00PM
    – San Diego Star Wars Society in Star Park (will be available for photos and questions)
    – Adrian Empire Demonstration at Star Park, (Tentative) Recreation of Western European culture between the years 1066-1603
  • 4:00PM Concert in the Park at Spreckels Park (6th and Orange)
    Music by: Coronado Community Concert Band
  • 9:00PM Fireworks Over Glorietta Bay (shot from barge in the bay)
    Music by:  KYXY on 96.5 radio
    (Local tip:  watch them from the golf course or Stingray Point – don’t drive, walk or bike)
